"Even just arriving at the birth center in active labor and seeing the two midwives that I knew really well...it was familiar faces in a familiar location. It felt home-like so I was able to stay in the zone very easily. The biggest difference in the birth center is that they encourage you to listen to your birth instincts."
"The prenatal and birth support at Seven Sisters was everything I want from health care. I couldn’t be more grateful to bring our child into the world surrounded by these strong women. They met our needs with confidence, patience, individualization, competence and empathy. They envelope you with their love of the process. I left in awe of my own life, that of my little one and my partner. I left feeling I was part of a beautiful movement."
“My CNM team, which included Kirsten, was consistently supportive and subtle, just the perfect balance to let my body do what it knew how to do. I felt very safe, very encouraged and was able to make decisions in partnership with my provider.”
"We received incredible care at Seven Sisters Midwifery. As a transgender couple, we knew that we needed care from providers who we could trust and who really cared about our process and needs. Everyone at Seven Sisters loves their work and we could feel it in the care we received. We were able to meet in-depth with each midwife during the entire pregnancy and in preparation for the birth. Each of them answered all of the questions we had and we looked forward to each prenatal visit - it felt very patient-led and centered. We are so lucky to have the center in our community!"

Entrusting us with your safety
Research shows that birth centers are a safe option for healthy, low-risk pregnancies. Seven Sisters Midwifery takes a comprehensive screening approach to ensure clients are meeting appropriate risk thresholds for care with our team at every stage--pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.
In the rare event they are needed, the Birth Center stands prepared with essential medications, emergency equipment, and staff trained to manage complications/resuscitations. We are located just 1.2 miles from Cooley Dickinson Hospital, where we maintain close working relationships with the hospital’s staff, midwives and physicians, allowing for seamless transfer of care via EMS should the need arise.
